Laura Lanford is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who specializes in working with individuals of all ages who have experienced transition or trauma. She holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Regent University, and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University.

Laura is passionate about empowering individuals and families to heal from trauma, find meaning and identity, and thrive in relationships. She has experience working with adults and children, including parents and foster youth, and specializes in helping her clients work through anger, anxiety, and depression. She draws from strength-based and person-centered approaches, incorporating aspects of cognitive-behavioral and existential models. Additionally, she is trained in grief counseling, Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®), and Havening Techniques®.

Twenty years of experience living internationally both as a child and as an adult have given Laura a truly multicultural perspective. She understands the unique perspective of HSPs (highly sensitive persons), TCKs (third culture kids), and multicultural individuals. Laura takes a holistic approach to counseling, and believes that belonging and connection are vital to living healthy lives. She has never met anyone who was beyond hope.

Outside of work, Laura can usually be found hiking, kayaking, or engaging in just about any outdoor activity. She enjoys meaningful conversations with friends and family and creating beauty through art, home decorating, gardening, and celebrations.
