Trauma

Trauma is a distressing event or series of events that can cause a person to feel threatened psychologically, physically, and/or emotionally. For some, the anxiety, fear, nightmares, avoidance, emotional numbness and other changes can persist long after the traumatic event or manifest themselves sometime later. The effects of trauma can begin to negatively impact relationships, work, or other areas of life.

At Pathways Group Counseling Center our desire is to provide a supportive environment where individuals can begin to address core beliefs, behavioral patterns, and symptoms that have developed from severe stress or trauma.

The therapists at Pathways offer guidance with the use of a variety of evidence based therapy methods including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, and Psychotherapy to help individuals and families dealing with stress, anxiety, fear, or trauma.
