Jerimiah Woods is a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in working with children and adolescents. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, both from Texas A&M Central Texas.
Jerimiah has worked as a therapist for youths through the Boy and Girls Club of America, addressing behavioral issues, school difficulties, youth stressors, healthy relationships, and preparation for adulthood. His previous experience also includes a local juvenile inpatient treatment center for youths with major behavioral issues. There he addressed mental health issues such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder, depression, anxiety, severe trauma, unhealthy relationships, criminal behaviors, drug abuse and addiction, and early development of personality disorders. He worked extensively with the youths’ families to repair broken bonds and worked on returning them home with a highest likelihood of a successful future. Additionally, he has worked with youth in his local community to strengthen relationships and to provide stable and enriching environments for them and their families.
Jerimiah utilizes therapeutic techniques that meet the client where they are at, using an eclectic balance of many therapies to best serve his client’s needs. These techniques include, but are not limited to, Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution-Focused, Family Systems, and Person-Centered techniques.
Jerimiah has been happily married for 12 years. He enjoys being active outdoors with sports and recreation activities, and painting with a number of different mediums. As an Eagle Scout, Jerimiah has done and continues to do community service projects through a number of different local avenues.
