Catherine Howe is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor with a master’s degree from Liberty University.  It is her desire to help individuals gain an increased awareness and understanding of how their thoughts, emotions, and physical experiences are connected, and how these can contribute to their current sensations of feeling stuck or overwhelmed in life – physically, emotionally, relationally, or spiritually.  She works to help clients develop the skills they need to move toward their personal, relational, and professional goals, and to develop a sense of healing and hopefulness.

Catherine utilizes a client-centered, holistic, trauma-informed approach. Techniques she utilizes include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Neurobiology, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and mindfulness techniques.  She works from an attachment-theory perspective and desires to help clients develop a clearer understanding of how their physical body and nervous system play a role in their healing.

As an Army veteran and military spouse, Catherine has years of extensive experience working with military-connected clients. She and her husband are the proud parents of three young adult children and a daughter-in-law. Catherine and her husband recently retired from the military to Temple and she continues to serve as a volunteer on Fort Hood. She enjoys reading, walking her dogs, trying out new hobbies, and getting to know the people of Central Texas with her husband in preparation for entering their empty nest!
