Amanda Durgin is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Tammy Corrales. She completed her undergraduate in psychology and master’s in counseling at Lubbock Christian University, with a heavy emphasis on childhood and development.

Amanda has worked with children aged 2 to 18, as well as young adults. She completed internships in early childhood education, school counseling, and foster care and adoption. She also has experience working with kids whose families are experiencing divorce. She works with issues of attachment, separation, anxiety, depression, grief, life skills, trauma, and more.

She specializes in supporting children and young adults in navigating their emotional challenges that come with grief, divorce, anxiety, and major life transitions such as the often-overwhelming shift into middle school, high school, or college. With an attachment-based, client-centered approach, she creates a safe and supportive space where young clients can express feelings, strengthen skills, and increase attachment.

Amanda’s goal is to help clients understand their experiences, process complex emotions, and feel more confident as they grow and progress. She draws from evidence-based practices and creative tools such as play therapy, sand tray, narrative and bibliotherapy, and attachment therapy to meet clients where they are. She also collaborates closely with parents and caregivers to ensure that support continues beyond the client’s time with her.

Whether clients are struggling with a recent loss, changes at home, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life’s transitions, Amanda wants them to feel seen, heard, and empowered.
