Alana is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas since 2021. Alana earned her Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies with Concentrations in Natural Science and Christian Studies from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2010, and a Master’s in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2017. Alana has over six years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families that have experienced complex trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship issues/conflict, sexuality issues, and PTSD.
She knows that everyone has a time in their life where they come upon roadblocks that hinder the ability to reach their greatest potential; by removing these blocks, she knows the client can surpass many difficulties. Alana believes that the heart of therapy is the therapeutic relationship, which consists of creating a safe and judgment-free environment while accepting individuality and the culture/heritage of each client. Alana’s approach to counseling is to meet the clients where they are and come alongside them in their journey. Alana has a foundation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but draws on other therapeutic modalities such as EMDR, Solution-Focused, Person-Centered, Mindfulness, and others to meet each client’s individual therapy needs.
It is Alana’s intent that her clients leave each session with a greater understanding, a sense of hope, and a continued want to become the best version of themselves.
Alana is married with four children. In her free time, she enjoys running, gardening, reading, painting, and yoga.
