Play Therapy
Encourages children to express their emotional concerns in a room that is dedicated to them
Play Therapy is a theoretical approach to helping children process difficult experiences, learn communication skills, regulate emotions, improve self-esteem, develop self-control, and solve problems adaptively. Play is the language that children use to express themselves and Play Therapy, designed for children between 3-12 years old, gives trained mental health practitioners the ability to assess and understand a child’s inner world.
At Pathways Group Counseling Center, our Play Therapists have specialized training in evidenced-based models of Play Therapy.
Before we meet your child for the first time, we require a parent session and we continue to meet with parents after 3-4 child sessions. It is important to us to collaborate with parents throughout your child’s care so that we implement a treatment plan that addresses all of your family’s needs.
