Heather Percell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology from Missouri Western State College, and her Master’s of Social Work degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. Heather worked as a school social worker for many years and served as a regional representative on the School Social Workers Association of Missouri board prior to moving to the Central Texas area. She was nominated as the Missouri School Social Worker of the Year for her work in facilitating a district-wide mental health initiative in one of the largest school districts in the state of Missouri.
Heather is experienced in working with children ages 3-18 to promote emotional wellness and academic success. She offers play therapy for youth that are working through trauma, anxiety, depression, and school/home concerns. Heather especially enjoys sandplay therapy and working with individuals using creative outlets such as imaginative play, art therapy, and mindfulness.
Operating from a client-centered approach, Heather is compassionate and trauma-focused. She utilizes play therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy, and has received her CCATP certification (Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional). She operates from a solution-focused approach when working with individuals on personal growth.
Heather has been married for 12 years and has a 10-year-old daughter who is actively involved in ballet, horseback, and her school’s choir. In her free time, Heather enjoys reading, exercising, and baking.
